What does it mean to be ‘more sustainable’? Basically it means being responsible citizens by maintaining the resources on our planet so that future generations can use them March is a big month environmentally. It includes Clean up Australia, Harmony Day, Earth Hour, International Day of Forests and World Water Day. Winterfold is holding a whole school sustainability day on Friday, 22 March, which also happens to be World Water Day – water for all by 2030. Throughout the day students will be fortunate to watch an environmentally friendly assembly, have an incursion about water, take part in block activities to make them aware of ways to become more sustainable and help clean up areas of our school.
Students – dress up your bike/scooter day is happening on Friday, 22 March, at 8am on the netball courts. Get creative, start designing and get moving. Cycle or scooter to school with your brilliant bikes/sensational scooters and parade your design around the netball court. Teachers and Student Leaders will be judging the bikes before the assembly and winners will be notified during the assembly that day.
